so what?
Calculating your own individual carbon footprint is just the
beginning... over the next months and years, each 'small step' in
the form of one individual's carbon footprint will build up into a
valuable picture of climate-change activity throughout
Herefordshire. At county level and also in every parish the data
collected will also be fed through to the UK government to help
collate national and international figures.
Once your footprint has been calculated you will be offered you
some useful advice on how you can reduce your impact, and guidance
on actions you can take in order to make the planet, and more
importantly Herefordshire, a sustainable place to live. This could
include getting involved with others interested in doing the same -
for example by joining a Carbon Reduction Action Group (CRAG). In
this way we will all be strengthening local communities, by
increasing awareness, involvement and co-operation between
different groups and organisations across the county!
If you think you haven't got time, or don't see the point for
whatever reason, just remember - saving the climate is about
reducing energy, and reducing energy means SAVING MONEY! Most
people end up saving money in significant amounts when they start
looking at their carbon footprint and energy efficiency.
